Travel to 1066 with Louis!

4 of January 1066: My name is Charlie of London. I am part of the housecarles, an elite English fighting force. Today our beloved King Edward died and I’ve heard that Harold earl of Wessex is going to inherit the throne, but across the sea there are rumours that a certain William duke of Normandy is also competing for the throne.

6 of January 1066: Harold earl of Wessex is crowned the new king of England. He was crowned earlier today in London. When this news will reach William duke of Normandy I bet he’ll be furious.

July 1066: According to our spies William has gathering up a fleet of ships and men. So now we’re waiting down south near the channel. We have already set up defences for the invasion fleet to come.

September: We’ve been waiting for a long time and now we have to head north because Harald king of Norway has landed in the north and has captured the city of Yorkshire, and now we’re heading there to defeat him, so we have to abandon our post in the south and go 185 miles up north to push back or defeat the invading Vikings back to Norway.

20 of September 1066: We’re now heading up north with a huge army and more to come because we are planning to pick up many other soldiers from other towns.

25 of September 1066: We have travelled one hundred and eighty two miles in five days and with an army of about seven thousand men. We approached the Vikings and we could see them without any armour and totally unprepared. We charged forwards and cut down the enemy on the west side of the bridge. They were either killed or they ran across the bridge to their main forces on the eats side of the bridge. We ran after them meeting up with their main forces then we had a big battle were king harald of Norway was killed

1 of October: we were celebrating when news reached us that William duke of Normandy had invaded and that he took the town called hastings south of London. This was very bad we already came all this way and now we have to go back down towards London.
